A Missouri man who is accused of molesting a child 15 years ago has now been taken into custody for allegedly trying to hire a hitman to have that complainant, who is now an adult, killed.
John Mark Wilson, 55, has been charged in federal court with solicitation of murder.
Officials said he paid a $2,000 deposit and promised $5,000 more to an undercover agent to have his alleged victim 'taken out,' according to court filings obtained by DailyMail.com.
Wilson was charged with two counts of statutory sodomy in Pettis County Circuit Court last year, in connection with allegedly assaulting a child victim in 2004.
Officials said they were tipped off on January 11 that Wilson, who is from the city of Sedalia, was trying to hire someone to commit a murder.
After receiving the information, a meeting was arranged between Wilson and the tipster by investigators with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Following that meeting where the tipster said he knew a person in Ohio who could do what Wilson was asking, an undercover ATF agent posing as a hit man met with Wilson at his home on January 16.

Wilson was in custody Thursday and is scheduled to appear in court on the charges Jan. 28.
