High school teacher, 23, 'had sex with one of her students inside her home' | Daily Mail Online

A 23-year-old Missouri high school teacher has been charged with having sex with one of her students.

Sarcoxie High School teacher Baylee Turner was arrested on February 13 on a count of sexual contact with a student by a teacher, a felony.

According to court documents, both Turner and the student acknowledged that they had sexual intercourse last month inside the woman's home in Sarcoxie.

The records did not provide details about the student’s age or gender.

It also remains unknown at this time when and how law enforcement officials and school administrators first learned of Turner's alleged tryst with the minor, which was said to have taken place between January 14-21.

Turner, who teaches high school English, had her bond set at $10,000 and was prohibited from having contact with anyone younger than age 16, if released, reported The Joplin Globe.

She is scheduled to be arraigned on March 6. If convicted of the charge against her, the 23-year-old Turner could face up to four years in prison.

Sarcoxie, MO is a very small rural town. I guess it goes to show it doesn't matter what size the town is, it can happen anywhere.

I just don't understand why these teachers don't keep their hands off the students and minors. It must be a control issue. idk.

Anytime I see in any headlines stating 'HAVING SEX WITH a minor' it makes my blood pressure rise, and my head feels like it's going to explode.

The sad thing is I see it more often used when it is a female defendant doing the criminal act. It drives me bonkers, and makes me livid.

An adult can't legally have sex with any minor child whether they are a teacher or not or what gender the defendant may be.

Imo, Using that terminology diminishes the seriousness of the crime.

It's been documented these kind of victims go on to have a lot of personal relationship issues as they get older. Their boundaries are confused and have been skewed

I just wish the media would call it what it is. A FELONY CRIMINAL ACT perpetrated against an underage child.

Imo, this adult woman used her maturity, her position of authority, and power in order to seduce this much younger minor.
