Circumstances of Disappearance:
Wolf was last seen at his farm in the 4200 block of 395th Street in Stanberry, Missouri on May 5, 2011. He has never been heard from again. He left his vehicle and cellular phone behind, but a 9mm pistol and a shotgun were missing from his residence. He wasn't reported missing until late May, about three weeks after he was last seen.

Foul play is suspected in Wolf's case and Randal “Randy” Evans is a suspect in his disappearance. His whereabouts remain unknown.

Family Looks for Clues to Find Murder Victim’s Body

Investigators say that Danny Wolf from Union Star, about 30 miles northeast of St. Joseph, was killed some time in May of 2011. Investigators say they have good evidence of that a murder took place – but what no one actually has is Danny’s body.
Delores Wolf says she last saw her son, Danny, on May 5th, 2011. When he didn’t call her on Mother’s Day, she knew something bad happened.

“I didn’t think that he was alive right off the bat,” she said.

A couple months later, an eyewitness stepped forward saying she saw Danny shot and killed.

“I feel like there was a big whole in my heart. I would never see him again or hear him say I love you mom,” Wolf explained.

It was a situation made worse by the fact that Wolf couldn’t bury her son.

“I would like to give him- a final- a final resting place,” she explained.

Wold says she’s asked law enforcement to search.

“They believe they have all this other evidence. They have blood, which they matched to our DNA. They have the gun and bullet and an eye witness,” said Wolf.

Her lawyer, Susan Dill, says it’s not because law enforcement doesn’t care.

“As I understand it, they believe they can get a conviction without a body,” she explained.

In fact, Randall Evans will go to trial for Wolf’s murder next February.

“We believe that there are people in the community that know where the body is,” Dill said.

Danny’s family is offering a reward for information that leads to recovery of his body.

The Gentry County Sheriff says a planned search is in the works, and the Missouri Attorney General’s office says they’re following up on credible leads.

Prosecutors argued that the crime occurred in early May 2011 in Mr. Evans’ home in Gentry County, with testimony from an eyewitness, forensic evidence and an overheard confession leading jurors to the conclusion Mr. Evans shot Mr. Wolf in the kitchen and disposed of the body.

Lauren Barrett, an assistant from the Missouri Attorney General’s office, summarized the evidence in her closing argument.
Among the key points, Kathy Libby, who formerly lived with Mr. Evans, testified earlier in the week that she saw Mr. Evans shoot the victim in the head and leave him gasping for air on the kitchen floor for 30 to 45 minutes; two of Mr. Evans’ friends said he confessed to the murder; DNA evidence linked blood stains on the floor to the victim, despite claims from the defense that the blood came from processing deer and feeding raw meat to pets; and ballistic evidence indicated that a bullet found above a patched section of ceiling above the refrigerator was from Mr. Evans’ .45 caliber Charles Daly pistol.
“We don’t know what happened to the body, but we do know one very determined man did anything he could to keep us from discovering it,” Ms. Barrett told the jury.
