Tuesday, March 17th:
*Case Management Conference Hearing (Jail damage) (@ 9am CT) - MO – Darnell S. Gray (4) (missing Oct. 25, 2018, Jefferson City, found Oct. 30, 2018) – *Quatavia Lwoun Givens (26/now 32) (ex-gf of father) arrested & charged (10/31/18) & arraigned (11/8/18) with 1st degree child abuse resulting in death. [Dismissed 8/24/21). Indicted (12/18/18) with felony abuse or neglect of a child. [Dismissed 8/24/21]. Indicted (10/29/19) with 2nd degree murder. [Dismissed 8/24/21]. Indicted & charged (8/25/21) with 1st degree murder, child abuse or neglect, serious emotional or physical injury-no sex abuse, endangering the welfare of a child in the 1st degree, death of a child-no sexual contact & abandonment of a corpse in the death of Darnell. (No plea on this yet). Plead not guilty to 2 other charges. No bond changed (3/21/19) to $100K Cash ONLY bond. Bond reduced (9/30/19) to $5K Cash or Surety Bond. Out on bond 9/30/19. Rearrested [8/26/21] when indicted on new charges & held without bond. Bond reduction denied (3/16/22). Cole County / Missouri Supreme Court
8/8/25 Update: Awaiting Judge’s decision on competency /found competent on 8/15/25.
Jury selection was set to begin on 9/7/23 continued on 7/23/26. (2 days).
Jury will be selected from Pulaski County & brought to Cole County for trial.
Trial was set to begin on 9/11/23 continued on 7/27/26. [7/28, 7/29, 7/30, 7/31, 8/3, 8/4, 8/5, 8/6 & 8/7/26] @ 8:30a

10/27/25 Update: Jury Trial Scheduled. Case set for trial as follows. Jury selection shall occur in Pulaski County, starting 7/23/26 @ 8:30am. Two days are anticipated for jury selection. The jury trial with the seated jury shall occur in Cole County starting 7/27/26 @ 8:30am & continue until completed. Two weeks are anticipated for the trial with Judge William Earl Hickle presiding. [7/28, 7/29, 7/30, 7/31, 8/3, 8/4, 8/5, 8/6 & 8/7/26. Last hearing was review hearing on 8/8/25.
*Charged (5/21/22) & arraigned (8/8/22) with felony damage to jail/jail property on 5/10/22. Plead not guilty. Cole County

For the jail damage, what about the murder of little Darnell? I'm just sounding out @Niner not at you. This case has been a never ending crapshow. IMO

The murder charge has jury selection on 7/23/26 with trial starting 7/27/26. I don't know why they are going with the jail damages first - I too would have preferred the murder case....

Yes - delays, continued, continued....
edited add - just a thought - maybe they will settle this AFTER the murder case - that will in July - and this next hearing is in August. So HOPING!!
