Circumstances of Disappearance
The last contact with Heitman was by a social worker on April 19, 2016. The social worker conducted a home visit in early June, 2016, and found the home empty. In October of 2016 a duffle bag of clothing, along with identifying documents, belonging to Heitman were found by a hunter n the Mark Twain National Forest in Pulaski County, Missouri. The bag was found about two miles into the forest from the roadway. Pulaski County is about 100 miles south of Columbia, Missouri. A ground search was conducted by local authorities, but no other signs of Heitman were found.

Details of Disappearance
Heitman was last seen in Columbia, Missouri on April 19, 2016. He made contact with his social worker that day and mentioned he was going to the lake with a friend. On June 23, over two months later, the social worker conducted a home visit and found the house empty.

In October 2016, a bag of Heitman's clothing and identifying documents was found by a hunter in the Mark Twain National Forest in Pulaski County, Missouri. The bag lay about two miles from the nearest roadway and about 100 miles south of Columbia. Authorities searched the area but found no other sign of Heitman.

Heitman is a Marine Corps veteran; he served as an aircraft ordnance technician. The circumstances of his disappearance are unclear.

This case is as cold as the circumstances! So, since it's been over 8 years since Mr. Heitman was last seen alive, I ASSUME he's most likely deceased. His remains could be scattered between Columbia MO and Pulaski County, MO. Going to try NAMUS to see if he's listed there and see if there might be any DOE's that could be Mr. Heitman. My ex-father-in law was a Marine. I appreciate their service.
