Curious as to how they escaped, but that is info that will probably never be released -- and that's how it should be.
These three are scary-looking, aren't they?
I've seen a couple of escape cases via MSM in the state where I live, and usually they are caught soon after the escape. Hoping this will be the same in Missouri. I'm sure they would be dangerous. I wonder if all three plan to stay together, and I also wonder if they have someone on "the outside" who was there to help them get away after their escape.

Hoping the citizens of MO will come to no harm from these three, and hoping LE will round 'em up soon, soon, soon.

I don't find them particularly scary looking, lots of young people have face tattoos these days. But unless that kid gets far away from Barry County, where he's apparently spent his whole life and accrued tons of different charges, he's going to be quickly apprehended. Can't hide if you're that distinctive in a tiny town.

IMHObservation, this region has plenty of undeveloped woodland and plenty of people with a distrust of/little respect for law enforcement.

Mr. Laughing's people are from this area. Interesting cultural mix. Have you read Winter's Bone? Set right here, and accurate imho.

These guys may be able to hide out for quite a while, unfortunately.

No additional news this morning, apparently.

3 ESCAPEES: Barry County sheriff asks for U.S. Marshals assistance; escaped through the ceiling
SBBM
-...cut a hole in the ceiling and entered a water heater storage area. They broke an exit door around what deputies believe to be 8:30 pm. [snip]

Our COs, when they were doing bed checks, had some stuff going on in booking, and they were not able to do the actual check-in when they were supposed to on the inmates,” Sheriff Boyd says.

Sheriff Boyd says he believes the three men are no longer in the area and are in Kansas.

[snip]

It wasn’t until Friday morning that those jail workers discovered the inmates were missing. According to Sheriff Boyd, those employees are not on any form of administrative leave at this time.
#

Either the COs were doing bed checks or they weren't. Which is it, Sheriff Boyd, b/c it can't be both? Why didn't they immediately do bed checks after the "stuff going on in booking" was done? Were the employees busy in booking until Friday morning? Hopefully there will be a thorough investigation into the escape especially relating to the employees' failure to do bed checks from before 8:30 pm Thursday until Friday morning. Barry County commissioners discuss new precautions at jail following escape of 3 inmates
Jun. 9, 2022
SBM

”I have been talking with our commissioners,” Boyd said. “We are doing some extra safety issues up there to resolve this problem, so we don’t have this problem again.” Sheriff Boyd says jail staffing is continuing to impact the department. ”We have two people on to usually cover 70-75 inmates, so it gets pretty intense.”
#

Extra safety issues. Patching with plywood?

Authorities should consider hiring/scheduling additional staff or paying Greene County to house all inmates until construction on the new jail is completed. Those options might end up costing Barry Co and the State of MO a lot less money than what it may cost if anyone gets hurt or killed by future armed and dangerous escaped inmates. o_O IJS MOO

So grateful this did not go on any longer or result in innocent folks injured or worse.
But I think this and other recent escapes underscore our need for closer examination and fortifications of our prisons.
