Held him down until he fell asleep?!?!? Children can't fall asleep on cue any more than adults can. This is probably not the first time anyone did something like that to him, especially because he couldn't tell his parents what was done to him! I almost wonder if he was smothered on purpose.

RIP, Conrad.

Allegedly, the staff member said the boy did not want to take his mid-day nap, so they covered him with the weighted blanket and held him down on the floor with their legs until “he was still.”

According to information obtained by the Daily Journal in interviews with parents of children enrolled at Poppy’s, this is a common practice at the facility and most often employed by a specific staff member. In other interviews with parents who asked their children about the day’s events, they all reported that “Conrad was in trouble for not taking his nap,” and the staff member either “sat on him” or “held him down with her legs” because of it.
Death of three-year-old occurs at Park Hills daycare

The staffer needs criminal charges and if this staffer's regular practice of restraining children to make them sleep was known to the owner she should also be prosecuted. Disgusting.

Our 3 year old was just restrained at school for no reason except the staff member was becoming cognitively impaired and our daughter said “no I don’t want to” to clean up time. We have all the things filed. This case gives me feels. Hard hard feels

I hope everyone involved or silent gets everything they can. I hope this family wins everything they can.

Sweet baby ❤️

I'm assuming this was an older person who had early-stage Alzheimer's or something similar?

40s, has huntingtons disease. Childcare/preschool is in a private school run by a school board, who was fully aware of the safety concerns and diagnosis. A negligent story I won’t put here to distract from this sweet baby, just hit my heart extra hard given the timing

That's really sad. The one person I have known personally who had HD was the daughter of a man who was believed to have Alzheimer's until SHE was correctly diagnosed! IDK why he had no known family history, but my guess was that he was adopted, his biological father was not who everyone thought he was, and/or his affected relatives died from something else before they developed symptoms. She had no children, although for other reasons, so she didn't have to worry about passing it on.

I wonder if this place was giving melatonin to children as a sleep aid? I actually saw a recent news story about nursery schools doing this, without the parents' permission!
