Holmquest Found Guilty In Minister Slaying

Cass County jurors found Stacy Holmquest guilty of second-degree murder Thursday in the death of her grandfather, a retired minister in Harrisonville.

Prosecutors had made the case that Holmquest, 33, of Belton, wanted the Rev. David Zeller's money and wanted him gone. Zeller, 76, was found dead at his home in January.

The 17-year-old charged with fatally shooting a retired Harrisonville minister has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Eric Villanueva was one of five people accused in the January 16 death of David Zeller, 76. Cass County Circuit Judge Joseph Dandurand yesterday sentenced Villanueva to two life sentences in prison.

Zeller's granddaughter Stacy Holmquest... encouraged the others to rob Zeller's home, telling them he kept money stashed in a floor safe...

Villanueva's sister, Veronica, 26, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for second-degree murder.
