Marvin Baker (34) disappeared from KC, MO in Jul'85 after leaving home to meet someone. His estimated height range of 5'9" - 6'0" is 2" taller than JD's measured height of 5'7". His hair is described as "Black - Shorter than collar length" which makes me wonder whether that could be interpreted by a ME as "Long black wirey hair consistent with the black race" as described for JD's hair. None of the clothing matches in either description except possibly the pants depending on how dark of a blue Marvin's pants were (MB - Blue pants; JD - Dark slacks). I suppose it's possible Marvin could have changed clothing b/w the time he disappeared and when he entered the abandoned home, if these are his remains.

Marvin's NamUs profile shows 5 exclusions. Assuming The Doe Network's records are complete and up-to-date, it seems a comparison against these remains might not be possible. The Doe Network profile shows Marvin has fingerprints but no DNA or dentals while JD's biological identifiers are unknown. Is it possible DNA couldn't be extracted or dental records taken from the mummified remains? Even if they have it seems investigators will need samples from Marvin's family to compare DNA. How frustrating...
