Last year I had done some research into Vernons case and I want to note a few things.

As of 2024. his abandoned home on Iris Road/ Otter Drive in Neosho, still stands. Its buried off the side of the road and is hard to find. The road that leads to the home looks like an old gravel road, but its heavily covered by weeds and you can just make out the outline of it on google maps. The street view makes it even harder to see. The home itself looks untouched from when Vernon went missing as you can still see old antennas in the backyard and his old truck still sitting in the driveway.

A closer look into Vernon Jalo shows that he was convicted of Conspiracy to commit murder/kidnapping. He served some jail time in the early 90s and went missing shortly after he got out of jail. The actual information about his criminal activities is available online for public to see and its not hard to find. I am going to go out on a limb and say that his disappearance is likely connected to the criminal activities. Also the specific details about his criminal activities is actually pretty scary.

weirdly enough, i think the person you’re talking about is someone else— vernon charles jalo born in 1934, vs vernon clark jalo, born 1962. same name and middle initial, same state…after doing some digging im pretty sure that’s his father.

i did find posts from vernon’s sister online that mentions he had a drug problem and was expecting to get into legal trouble for unpaid child support. family believes he went missing voluntarily

I was looking into Doe 259UMNY as being a potential match? Besides the description of his teeth from the blogspot and a facebook post made by Newton County, MO., but no mention of dentures or anything significant about the teeth of the decedent on Doe Network... the curve of the nose and the similar weight and same height, voluntarily running off to Brooklyn sounds like the thing to do in the 90s.

The Newton County Sherriff's office has an online tip feature and I submitted it because why not?
