Local serial killer Maury Travis was in jail for an unrelated crime at the time she disappeared, in case anyone else wondered if she was one of his victims.

According to a Post Dispatch (St.Louis) article dated 6/22/2002, Maury was imprisoned for a parole violation between 11/29/2000 and 3/19/2001 which means that Wilma could very well be a victim of his as her date of last contact was 12/07/2001

*Do yall think this may be connected?

*Travis Maury's basement room held all the evidence detectives needed to connect him to the murders of several sex workers he'd killed and discarded in remote places around St. Louis, Missouri. But while incarcerated, officers failed to notice his plan to take his own life before it was too late.
