The former superintendent of a DeKalb County home was sentenced to 20 years in prison and four years of probation Tuesday for repeatedly molesting two girls.

Richard Barkley Snow, 50, of the Hidden Valley Mobile Home Park, on the western edge of DeKalb County, pleaded guilty to two Class A felony counts of child molesting and two Class C felony counts of child molesting in May.

Snow admitted to performing sex acts on the girls, who were younger than 15 when the crimes occurred, at his mobile home and at the Sunny Meadows county home on County Road 40 West. He also admitted to touching the girls inappropriately.

The mother brought a framed picture of her daughters for the judge, showing their bright smiles during happier times, and read a letter from one of the girls to Snow.

“Don’t you know I’ll be hurting forever,” the letter said. “I will never forgive you for what you did. You broke me into 2,000 pieces.”
