I can not even imagin what he is going through. Was supposed to be back already till the trouble with the shuttle.

The elderly mother of an American astronaut aboard the International Space Station died in a car-train crash in a Chicago suburb on Wednesday.

I heard on ABC news that the funeral would be taped and relayed to Tani on the ISS. It's got to be hard to be on the assignment of a lifetime and not be able to be with your loved ones during this time.

What's a son to do when he loses a parent while in space?
