Six school students are shot and wounded at Mississippi house party

Six high school students were injured after gunfire erupted at a house party in southern Mississippi.

Two high schoolers are dead and four more are in serious condition at the hospital after a teenager opened fire at a house party in southern Mississippi.

Cameron Everett Brand, 19, was identified as the shooter that fired multiple rounds after midnight on Sunday in Bay St. Louis, about 29 miles (46 kilometers) west of Biloxi, The Biloxi Sun Herald reported

A 16-year-old and 18-year-old died as a result of their injuries. Family members identified the 18-year-old as De'Arreis Smith, according to WLOX.

In total, six students were shot and taken to area hospitals. Three were listed in critical condition and three were in serious condition in the shooting's immediate aftermath, officials said.

Post from CB 5 days ago is interesting, seems that his photo was being shared (ostensibly for the purpose of mockery) on an FB page where other teens (maybe local to him, or known to him?) were commenting; CB’s post asks to have his picture taken down.

Bay teen recounts deadly tragedy: ‘He just started shooting and left without remorse’

The 18-year-old Bay High senior who hosted the deadly party said the suspect started shooting without warning into the crowd of teenagers.

The mother and teenager who hosted the party were in shock Sunday as relatives comforted them on their front porch.

The teenager and her mother recounted for the Sun Herald what happened, but did not want their names used because of the attention it would attract. Vehicles were driving up and down the street on Sunday, where there’s usually little traffic, and slowing to see the scene of the crime.

“We were having a good time,” the 18-year-old said, “until he started shooting. He just started shooting and left without remorse . . . The way he just got in his car and left and went home. He shot six innocent people.

“This happened at my house. I just wanted everybody to have a good time. This will live with me forever.”
