No suspects have been identified in the case. Deputies are asking anyone with information about the case to come forward.

Sheriff Byron Swilley says Alex Rosamond was found dead on August 11 at a home on Earl Knight Road in Crystal Springs. There were some suspicious details about the crime scene, some officials said, that did not point to suicide.

Frustrated with a lack of response from local law enforcement, family and friends have started a Facebook page to get justice for a Mississippi man whose death was originally classified as a suicide but was later determined to be otherwise.

“Alex Rosamond was shot and murdered in his sleep on 8/11/2021. There has been no media attention, no articles, no arrests. This page is to try to help bring attention to his murder & hopefully justice to a man that was loved by so many,” the Facebook page says.

Rosamond’s father and best friend noticed certain things at the crime scene that looked more like what happened was a homicide than a suicide. Rosamond was shot and killed in his sleep at his home off Earl Knight Road on August 11th...

“I just don’t know of anybody that would have any ill feelings toward him at all,” Stringer said. “It just has blown us all away.”

She said her stepbrother knew a lot of people in Crystal Springs and feels that somebody knows something but just isn’t coming forward.

It’s possible that whoever went into the home left behind some kind of helpful evidence. The family isn’t happy with LE at this point and with good reason as they botched it with reporting it as suicide before backing up with that and saying homicide. Now they are going silent so I can understand the frustration.
