WALNUT, Miss. — Family and friends of a missing Walnut, Mississippi, woman are frantic to find her.

No one in the small Tippah County town has seen Candice Marie Gibson since 2017, but her family didn’t officially report her missing until Jan. 16 after believing she had moved to Arkansas.

Wow! This is a very long time to not see or hear from someone! Did Candice not talk to her family? What about holidays, such as Thanksgiving & Christmas?

Walnut has a population of about 750 people, it's very small.

And she left three children behind, and never tried to contact them after allegedly moving away? Nobody thought it was odd that she hadn't tried to make contact with her children for well over a year? Something is very strange about this whole thing!

This just doesn’t sound right at all!

I wonder if she told family she was moving to AR or did someone else give them that impression?
Did she have custody of her kids? If so, did her family not find it strange that she didn’t take the kids with her when she “moved”?
Did her ex-husband not ever think in 3 years, “hey, I haven’t heard from my kids’ mother.”?

Gibson was last seen in Walnut in 2017. She worked at a gas station on Highway 72.

No one answered the door at the house in Walnut where Gibson lived before she was divorced and where her ex-husband and children still live, and police said they've spoken with Gibson's ex-husband a few times.

i live on that road from gibson family and i can answer some of your questions no she dosent have custody of her kids she lost them a long time ago and her husband's mother has full custody of them when they divorced she got the custody of them and i grew up with gibson there is alot of this story that isnt adding up to be honest and i dont understand why there just now filing for missing person's since its been so long things about the whole thing is just not adding up at all

i spoke to her sister lastnight they said they reported it in jan and prenatally her mom didnt report it at all her sister is the one who reported it

oh it is very odd in my honest thought here it was all for attention honestly bc lets ask ourselfs something shes gone since 2017 but they just now file a report an this goes on for about 2 or 3 weeks and right after the news broadcasts it she is somehow found and says she dosnt want nobody to know were she is and remind urself she has beautiful kids what mother dosnt want to be around her children or at least be incontact with them maybe im over thinking this but yeaa alot of questions with no answers....
