Interesting that Edith was only added into NamUs recently, considering that circumstances of her disappearance.

I typed her name into newspapers.com and there appears to be three articles written about her abduction in the Hattiesburg American. I don't have a subscription so i can't clip the articles.

Details of Disappearance

Hillman was last seen in Leakesville, Mississippi. The exact date of her disappearance is unclear; different dates have been reported, between August 23 and September 5, 1987. She has never been heard from again. In October 1987, her blue four-door 1979 Toyota Corolla with the Mississippi license plate number EEC-256 was found in the front parking lot of Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. There was blood in the backseat.

Few details are available in Hillman's case. Authorities believe she was taken against her will.

Newspaper reported that she was last seen driving her car. I wonder what details led them to believe she was abducted from her home. She was also reported to have green eyes while her MP report states brown eyes.

Hillman and her son had dinner before he left for college on August 23, 1987. When her son returned from college on the following Friday, their dinner from that Sunday was still on the stove. Hillman did not show up Monday (August 24th) for her first day at her new job. In October 1987, her blue 4-door 1979 Toyota Corolla was found in the front parking lot of Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. There was blood evidence in the back seat. Hillman’s case remains unsolved at this time.
