This UID died after being 'struck by a vehicle' so presumably was walking beside/on the road. Sadly Namus doesn't even have a description of his hair or eye colour to help out - just age 45-55yo and white/Caucasian.
It also doesn't say exactly where in Jackson County the accident occurred and the pin in Namus is to a rural area, though possibly they meant to pin the nearby I-10. If this was that case perhaps he was a hitchhiker?

I'm thinking he's unlikely to be this person who went missing from AL two years earlier, especially since there was no indication he was planning to leave, but putting it out there as an option AL - AL - Olen 'Guy' Kirby, 45, Shelby, 13 March 1975

Not 100% of this, Pascagoula is in Jackson County, however the newspaper article is dated Monday, August 8, with the event on Friday. The Namus case reflects a date of August 7.
