• Distinguishing CharacteristicsCaucasian male. Brown hair, brown eyes. Loomis has a tattoo of a Celtic design on his upper arm at the shoulder; a photo of it is posted with this case summary. His left pinky finger was injured at the time of his disappearance.
• Details of Disappearance
  Loomis was last seen on 9th Avenue in Kalispell, Montana on October 19, 2019. He told his family he was planning to go hunting with his girlfriend and a male friend in the Eureka or Libby, Montana area. He has never been heard from again. He had moved to Kalispell form Oregon two months earlier and was staying at the Samaritan House, a homeless shelter and transitional living program, and working two jobs.
  
  The two people whom Loomis planned to go hunting with refused to cooperate with the police or even speak to them about Loomis's disappearance. He left all his belongings behind, and his mother stated it would be uncharacteristic of him to abandon his jobs. His case remains unsolved.

His mom says his belongings were stored at the Samaritan House in Kalispell, but those belongings were never picked up. “The fact that he had those jobs, he’s never left a job, he had a job in Iowa for over a year and he understands the benefits of work, so this disappearance is just not normal,” said Cranor.

Jacob Loomis is missing from Roseburg

In August of 2019, Jacob left his hometown of Roseburg, MT to meet up with a girl on the Oregon Coast; together they traveled towards the Eureka or Libby area to go hunting & ended up in Kalispell.

(Somers, MT) to 1 hour (Polson, MT) from Kalispell. My thoughts are with investigators as they attempt make an ID and also with the victim's loved ones.

I just learned about his case since he's the "missing person of the week" on the Charley project. It made me feel very frustrated.

Honestly I was shocked to read about his disappearance. I had no idea it's even possible for people known to be the last to see a missing person to just refuse any help or cooperation.
Heartbreaking that he seemed to be working so hard to get back on his feet in life and it just...

What the actual hell is wrong with those people? So she was his girlfriend? And he met her online or something like that? Moved to Montana, stayed at group home and worked two jobs... to be able to be with her I guess... and she wasn't even willing to talk about his disappearance? Offer any tips? Crazy.

It sounds even weirder than "afraid of consequences".
I think that anyone would be afraid of consequences of being the last known person to meet with someone who went missing - no matter if involved and to various degree responsible or not having a clue what happened (cause for example they never actually showed up, or parted ways without any concerns).

I'd expect most people to have that fear of possible consequences for them tiny tiny in comparison to the need to help in search, help family, learn to know what happened... Cause that's usually what people do, right?
And guilty people, those somewhat responsible for the disappearance or/and death... it's only as far as I was able to notice in cases I learned about, but those seem to lie.

I don't even recall anything like this.
"Not cooperating with the police happens". It happens a lot.
But it usually means something like: person answered initial questions, delivered some info, some form of explanation or timeline, was asked to stay in touch or called for additional questioning, offering more details, doing some more - and then they refused, avoided investigators or something like that.
But not cooperating with the police and refuse to even speak about the disappearance?
This is so odd. Crazy odd. Like... why? Why would anyone do that? It's making them look terrible and suspicious, basically like the ones responsible, yet it's not how the responsible ones tend to act.

I was stretching my imagination for whole day to come up with anything and it doesn't really make any sense.
I got two ideas.
1. They're incredibly odd people.
2. They whitnessed Jacob being accidentally killed or murdered by a person or people known to them - and that person was somehow unaware of their presence there, or confident that they won't say anything for their own or their families safety, so they made it as clear as possible that they are not only uncooperative with the cops, they won't even talk about Jacob at all.


That anonymous tip about location of his body could be easily given to the LE anonymously and pass as something that could came (theoretically) from someone who was walking with the dog, hiking or hunting and stumbled on the remains - not so much if he's not actually out there in the woods/wilderness... or if he's buried.

Also... Eureka or Libby.

Kalispell-Libby = 90 miles
Kalispell-Eureka = 66 miles
Libby-Eureka = 70 miles

This is not even giving any chances to search for him.
There are countries smaller and likely easier to search than this area.

This is the first of what I heard about this gentleman, I was thinking of another young man who went missing too, I thought I come check out your website to see how to reach out to you.

Do you get involved outside of your state?

I am asking because of a missing person's story that has touched my heart when I first saw a post on FB a few years ago. I have reached out to the missing person's mother and I have asked her several questions because I felt something was not lining up or right, I felt this mother was being brushed away because of whatever reasoning, FBI hasn't done anything and felt they couldn't help in this case, I felt very heartbroken to hear this. My heart went out to her as I heard her over the messenger online, I tried to offer her some of my services as in reaching out to the communities of all over Montana to spread the word on her missing son. For I have resources to getting news out, I also suggested to her to reach out to other states around Montana and around her state of Oregon, because part of what I use to do in reaching out for sporting events it can help or at least reach out and have the word be spread out to the USA. I also suggested that she reach out to Cold Case, Unsolved Mystery, anyone who can come in and find REAL answers to what happened to her son.

I lost touch with the mother because my pc shutoff on my while I was adding my birthday in FB and when I logged back on, I got a message from FB that I wasn't old enough to have an account and to try back later, so I had to create another account on FB but I am not online as much due to travels and work.

I hope to hear back from you, I am very intrigued by your website and glad to know that you care about missing people too. I appreciate what you do and I hope to be more able to help people as well in missing persons. I like to know how to help people in missing people.
