Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services give update on missing person Leo Wagner

• Per Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services (BLES) Officer Frank Goings, Wagner was last seen by family and friends near the St. Mary and Babb areas.
Timeline
April 27
BLES officers responded to a call in St. Mary about a man under the influence walking near St. Mary Lake. When BLES responded, they were unable to locate the man. BLES received a second call that the same man was walking North on West Shore Road with an injured arm. BLES responded and searched the road, St. Mary and Babb but were unsuccessful.
April 29
BLES received a missing person report for Wagner. BLES followed up by speaking with his family and friends about his whereabouts.
May 1
BLES searched Babb and St. Mary.
May 2
• A cabin near Big Nose Bay was burglarized. Wagner's family identified clothing and items belonging to Wagner at the cabin and that it appeared an injury had occurred.
• The recovered clothing items "indicate (Wagner) was severely injured."
The search effort to locate Wagner included helicopters, horses, ATVs, boats, drivers, cadaver dogs and other equipment.
May 8
Audio recordings regarding Wagner's disappearance were shared on social media. BLES interviewed people in the recording and searched the area described but said the claims "proved to be fictitious and unsubstantiated."
May 9
BLES scaled back the search effort.
The investigation into Wagner's disappearance is "open and ongoing."
