Mullin / Rissell Photo Mixup

After watching the Netflix series "mindhunter" I began looking into some of the serial killers on which the show was based.

I noticed that when I Google photos of "monte rissell" that the photo that heads Herbert Mullin's Wikipedia page is what shows up.


I'm far from being an expert on serial killers so this was fairly confusing. What's the deal here?

Here is a photograph comparing a picture that is supposed to be rissell to the actor portraying him on "mindhunter"


Now, if we go to the Wikipedia page for "Herbert William Mullin" we see this same picture.
