I can't seem to find a post about Nayantara so posting to try and spread awareness and get any thoughts on her death. She never returned home from school and news reports indicate the police think she was kept alive for four days after going missing. There seems to be some debate if the police believed the family was responsible (which I can't quite understand as they reported her missing on the 4th so she would have been kept alive, beaten, sexually assaulted, all while the police searched. Seems unlikely for the family to have done this)

There's very little online; probably as it would have been before big internet coverage and the family possibly didn't have the means to push the case out there. Below article gives a summary and compares it to another missing girl that happened the same month

It looks like it was considered as a case for further DNA testing in 1999 but doesn't appear that happened / there were results from it as I can see nothing further

Murdered 11 year olds should always be newsworthy imo. I hope her case isn't cold forever.

She didn't arrive at school that day, I wonder why the school didn't phone her family to ask where she was? As she was 11, she must have just started secondary school.

I'm a bit older than her but also from the UK and the school never rang your parents when I was that agency. I also don't recall my parents ever ringing the school either. It was assumed you were sick if you didn't show up and you'd have a note when you returned. I doubt one day would have triggered a school response in 1991 sadly.
