MISSING PERSON PRESS RELEASE

A missing person report was filed on Sunday 6/17/18 for an Allen Leon Binns Sr. Mr. Binns was seen at the Red Stripe in Pilot Mountain around 9:30 pm and the Blue Mountain Convenience Store on Cook School Road at 9:36 pm. Also, during the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Mr. Binns’s vehicle had been involved in an accident on Hwy 89 near the Palomino Ranch in Lowgap on Saturday 6/16/18 around 10:40 pm. The vehicle, a 2012 Silver Honda Accord, was found unoccupied with minor damage. There has been no contact with Mr. Binns since the accident. Binns is 38 years old, 5’4”, 198 lbs, short black hair, and brown eyes. Last seen wearing a white button up shirt, gray basketball shorts, and brown penny-loafers.

SURRY COUNTY, N.C. – A body believed to be that of a man reported missing earlier this week has been found in a wooded area of Surry County.

A body believed to be Allen Leon Binns Sr. was found just before 7:30 a.m. Thursday off N.C. Highway 89.

SURRY COUNTY, N.C. -- The family of a missing Surry County man confirmed to Spectrum News that investigators found the body of Allen Binns, Sr.

Searchers made the discovery Thursday morning off of N.C. Highway 89.

Binns' body has been sent to the North Carolina Medical Center for an autopsy and official identification

SURRY COUNTY, N.C. —

The body discovered Thursday morning in Surry County has been identified as Allen Binns Sr., who was reported missing Sunday night.

Binn's body was found at 7:30 a.m. Thursday in a wooded area off NC Highway 89.
The man's cause of death has yet to be determined.

“We have not received the cause of death," Surry County Sheriff Jimmy Combs said. "Investigators will continue to work this case like any criminal investigation until a cause is determined.”
