Annie Lock. Annie, a 24-year-old Black female, was last seen on August 17, 2024, in the Kiana Lane area.
She was reported missing on October 10, 2024.

Annie Lock stands 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds, with an average build and a caramel skin tone. She has dark brown eyes and black hair styled in long braids with blue highlights. Her piercings include her upper lip, belly button, nose, and tongue. Annie has several tattoos

To note:
•A search warrant from Fayetteville Police says investigators noted they believed that Annie had gotten into an argument with her ex-boyfriend that day before she left their apartment on Cliffdale Road.
•Annie's phone records track movements through Hoke County, into Red Springs and Lumberton before coming back to Fayetteville on Aug. 18. It was last active on Aug. 29.
•There also hasn't been any activity in her bank accounts since Aug. 15.

Remains were found today near the Cliffdale Road off-ramp. Cliffdale Road appears to be where Annie was last seen. It’s unknown who the remains may belong to and will be sent to the ME for identification.

Rodney Johnson went missing somewhere in this area as well.

How long does it typically take to get the DNA results back?

How long does it typically take to get the DNA results back?
It can take weeks (perhaps 6-12) and that is assuming they have comparative DNA available to use. To compare the victim’s DNA profile to the recovered death-scene DNA, the laboratory will need to have their known biological samples available for a side-by-side comparison. Getting such DNA comparative evidence is not always as quick and easy as you see on TV - ("Look! It's the victim's hairbrush that just happens to have the nuclear DNA that's in the hair follicle and not just the hair shaft like is found on most people's brush!)

The time may also depend on the lab doing the test (federal L.E., private, state, etc.). It's not uncommon for forensic laboratories to have a backlog of DNA casework that can delay testing for several months. Once testing begins, the length of time necessary to complete the analysis is based on the complexity of the case (also varying from weeks to several months) Cases I've worked that went through our federal lab took several months (on average) but DNA profiling (as opposed to toxological testing for alcohol/drugs) is done on an extremely small number (probably .5 percent) of plane crash victims in non mass casualty events so that's just my best estimate for labs that conduct such testing in general.

Adding to that is the fact the analysis is often complicated by sample degradation due to exposure to sometimes harsh environmental conditions that can occur between time of death and gathering of the sample. Since the remains referenced are outdoors, that would be likely be a factor.

I was thinking it would take longer then a couple of months. Thanks for the information.

Unfortunately, the remains have been identified as Annie :(

Tanya said that the man authorities charged with her sister’s death, 26-year-old Tyrique Zavier Leroy Williams, knew Annie and the two shared a young child.

Shortly after Annie’s disappearance, Tanya said that Williams changed, claiming he got married two months after Annie was reported missing and joined the military.

*****
The family claimed Williams was impersonating Annie through her own cell phone, which they said made them think she was okay.

“He was texting us after she was already gone,” said Tanya. “He was calling my dad, breathing on the phone like it was her, and my dad thought it was her last breaths, and it wasn’t. It’s just hard because I thought I was texting my sister in September, and it wasn’t her.”
