NC NC - Brent, Brenttany & Jennifer Hughes, & Sarena Glenn, Fayetteville, Dec 1996

Really surprised this compelling case has so little engagement on here. To me it’s one of the most fascinating “vanished without a trace” cases in modern times (I’m saying 1996 is “modern” here).

It’s one of the last cases where numerous people vanished in this manner before it became much harder to accomplish (either by their own volition or as victims).

It’s made more compelling by the lack of information/chatter online about it (including here). Reddit (bleh) actually has a lot more (rare for a cold case).

I’ve read most everything which is readily available for this case. As others have often pointed out, there’s a lot of conflicting info.

Personally, I currently believe the following (but can be swayed otherwise): The van made it to Alabama. The van did not end up in a body of water with all of them inside.

I think at least one of the five is still alive, but no more than three. Probably just one or two. It would be too hard all five of them to live 30 more years without some unimpeachable evidence surfacing online. I can see the possible motivations for all of them to lay low for a few years. But three decades? Nah.

At minimum Robby was in an abusive relationship, but she had a lot of issues as well. Being married and divorced three times by 32 with at least 3 and maybe 4 fathers has a lot of the markers for Borderline Personality, or at minimum questionable decision making.

The conflicting info among otherwise reliable sources (LE, MSM) is why I think some of them are still alive. That and the jarring ambivalence among these sources to set the record straight.
