WILSON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man just released from prison killed his mother and brother Monday night at a Wilson home, police said.

Da'ron Donta Jenkins, 25, of Wilson, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

[this link has an interview with cousin to the mother/victim who resided in the other half of the duplex looks like. She said he was behaving odd since his release. She said the way the mother's car was parked caused her to worry something wasn't right over there. I am thinking she might have been the one who called LE for a wellness check or something.]

Obviously the justice system deemed he'd served his time and was ready for a free life, but just .... ugh !

That’s extremely sad. What I’m about to say in no way whatsoever absolutely zero absolves violence murder or abuse. Our prisons, I volunteered for a few years in one, create PTSD monsters. We seriously need to completely redo our system and follow the Norway model ,for example , or accept the criminals coming out are far more disturbed and violent than went they went it. American prisons are run by gangs who use torture snd rape abuse intimidation every single day to terrorize prisoners. The guards are frequently complicit if not actually perpetrators. It’s our choice. But we either need prison reform or to agree we don’t want to treat or rehabilitate, we want to terrorize prisoners, to the point of violent insanity.

I agree. It’s like a machine designed to increase recidivism. We can’t fix people drawn to darkness by locking them in the darkness.
