Diego Daniel Quintero Fregozo, 21, was last seen being forcefully removed from a home at 800 E. Sprague St. by three suspects, police said. In a home invasion, three other people, including a 15-year-old, were tied up and assaulted with a gun, a blunt instrument, knives and a Taser.

Christian Brian Hernandez, 26, and Perla Molina Reyes, 25, told investigators that the house was being used to store and distribute illegal drugs and was being used to store proceeds from drug trafficking, police said.

Winston-Salem Police ask Mexican Consulate for help in a kidnapping case

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Winston-Salem Police department says it has requested assistance from the Mexican Consulate to find a man who investigators believe was kidnapped during a home invasion in mid-December.

Authorities immediately asked for help from the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security.

Now, according to Capt. Tollie, the department has contacted the Mexican Consulate for assistance with the investigation and officials there are trying to locate a family member of Fregozo.

Winston-Salem police said the home was not randomly targeted and that it was being used to keep and sell illicit drugs. That, police say, is why the home was targeted.

Winston-Salem police are still searching for the three suspects. On Wednesday, police released two surveillance images of vehicles believed to have been involved in the crime.

Winston-Salem police are asking for help from the Mexican consulate to find a kidnapped man.

Circumstances of Disappearance Diego was last seen at a residence on E Sprague Street when a "home invasion"/robbery occurred at the residence. During that incident, the unknown suspects removed Diego from the residence, and it is presumed that they took him with them from the area. The other residents of the residence did not notify the police that Diego was kidnapped from the residence until two days after the initial incident. Diego has not been seen or heard from since.

Unfortunately, this was never a likely "for ransom" kidnapping. IMO he was removed from a drug house, likely active in things happening there. They removed him to extract more information from him in a more remote location, they then would have killed him when they were done. I'm so sorry for his loved ones.

It's been almost a year since Diego was kidnapped. Where did these men take him and what, if anything, did they do to him?

At this time, authorities are releasing a limited description of the suspects. All three suspects are described as black men, approximately 6 feet tall, with average builds. One suspect was described as having short Afro styled hair, a short beard and medium complexion. All three men were dressed in black clothing.

He's likely dead and buried somewhere, if this was a drug issue. Interestingly, here in my home state they kill you and then leave you in an alley so your body can be found.
