"No body was found Tuesday in a field near Kernersville that has been the scene of an active search since Friday, when investigators with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office received a tip about a potential crime.

Crews used a backhoe to dig in an area sectioned off with crime-scene tape in a field near the intersection of Teague Lane and Ogden School Road. Maj. Mark Elliott of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said the search is scheduled to resume about 9 a.m. today.

Elliott said the sheriff’s office received the tip Friday that a body might have been dumped on property near Kernersville in January or February of this year... Several television reporters asked Elliott about an inmate from the Forsyth County jail who was brought to the property. Elliott declined to provide any details on that inmate.

Elliott said about 25 to 30 people are working on the case, including those back at the sheriff’s office."
