I clipped the newspaper article so everyone can read it even if they don't have a subscription:

Thanks very much. I hadn't realized there was a second page. Clearly LE put a lot of effort into investigating this. It raises the possibility that his disappearance was somehow tied to his late father's estate and maybe real estate or timber deals related to it.
It looks like Mr. Keith's travels went in an arc from Garner, to near Fuquay Varina in Southern Wake Co, and over to Corinth and Moncure in Chatham Co. where his truck was found.
Here's a timeline:
On Feb. 18 he left his home in Garner and visited a construction site at West Oak near Fuquay Varina.
He met with LW at 8:30am at a store in Corinth NC.
His secretary called and spoke with him on his mobile phone at 11am about picking up loan papers at a bank. The call came from within 15 miles of a cell tower near Lake Wheeler Rd. and 1010 Rd.
He never made it to the bank (not clear which one).
His abandoned truck was first seen Feb. 20 at the railroad bed near Moncure and identified as his on Feb. 23.
His keys, wallet, credit cards, checkbook, and uncashed checks were found in the truck plus his unfired pistol was still under the seat.
A briefcase with unknown contents was missing.
He couldn't walk more than 50 yards at a time due to a degenerative disease.
The phone wasn't mentioned. Maybe it was in the briefcase?
