In the other case, Jimmy Lee Isom, who is 36, was last seen on Aug. 29 at his residence on Cable Creek Road, Asheboro. He is a white male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, 190 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair. He has a cross tattoo on his wrist.

ASHEBORO — A 911 call Tuesday led Randolph County Sheriff's investigators to female human remains in a wooded area near 3890 Pisgah Covered Bridge Road.


The identity of the victim is currently known, but is being withheld at this time pending notification of family members.

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office posted about the disappearance of 36-year-old Jimmy Lee Isom on Facebook Wednesday afternoon, saying they have “reason to believe foul play is involved.”
He is described as being 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 190 pounds and having hazel eyes and brown hair. He also has a cross tattoo on his wrist.
A $5,000 reward is being offered for information in the case.

Reward increases to $15K for Asheboro man missing since 2017

The reward for a missing Asheboro man has been raised to $15,000.

Gov. Roy Cooper’s office on Tuesday added an additional $5,000 to the $10,000 reward for information related to Isom’s disappearance.

Jimmy Lee Isom, 36, went missing from his house on Cable Creek Road on Aug. 29, 2017, investigators said. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office said they believe Isom was killed, but no one came forward with information about his death or the whereabouts of his body.

Details of Disappearance​

Foul play is suspected in Isom's disappearance; authorities believe he was the victim of a homicide.
