Juan Lopez, Joel's brother, said his brother was last seen on I-85 headed northbound but could possibly be headed to Virginia Beach, a place he loves.

North Carolina Public Safety officials issued a Silver Alert for Joel, saying he is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

The W.A.T.E.R. Team Inc., a nonprofit based in Newport News, helps to find missing people on land and in the water.

RALEIGH 10/30/21 5:42 PM -- The N.C. Center for Missing Persons has issued a Silver Alert for a missing endangered man, Joel Lopez-Hernandez.

Citizens are asked to be on the lookout for Joel Lopez-Hernandez, who is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

Anyone with information about Joel Lopez-Hernandez should call Kimley Gregory at the Vance Couonty Sheriff Dept at 252-738-2200.

Joel Lopez Hernandez was last seen walking from his residence on October 28, 2021 sometime around 5pm. At the time of his disappearance, Hernandez was seen wearing black shorts, a sky blue t-shirt, and no shoes. He was spotted in the area of I-85 Northbound near exit 212 by a Henderson Police Officer whom noticed Hernandez walking on I-85. He did not have a cell phone or photo identification on his person at the time of his disappearance.
