Tow truck employee finds body of Elizabeth City State student in trunk of car, man arrested

Jordan Isaiah Thomas was charged with murder after 19-year-old Amarriah Smith was found dead in a car in Washington.

The Chowan County Sheriff's Office said the body found is believed to be 19-year-old Amarriah Smith, pending positive identification from the medical examiner’s office.

Beautiful young woman, now gone. How many friends and relatives are crying and angry -- many feeling both at the same time.
Whatever plans she had -- gone, as are birthdays, holidays, schoolwork or work-work, her friendships with others, her ideas for how she could help people, loving her family, and on and on.
