Amber Alert issued for 1-year-old girl abducted from Mint Hill, police say | WGHP FOX8

MINT HILL, N.C. (WGHP) — An Amber Alert has been issued in North Carolina for a missing 1-year-old girl who may have been abducted.

Police are searching for 1-year-old Lilliana Josephine Lemmond. She is described as a 2-foot-tall white girl weighing about 25 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing white pajamas with blue and pink animals on them.

Police believe she may have been abducted by Jeremy Scott Lemmond, 39. He is described as a 6-foot-tall white man weighing about 160 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

The child was last seen on the 5000 block of Quail Ridge Drive in Mint Hill, southeast of Charlotte. Police say they may be in a black 2011 Subaru Legacy with North Carolina plates JBV6840 heading in an unknown direction.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Mint Hill Police Dept immediately at (704) 889-223, or call 911 or *HP.

I need a better description of the circumstances here. I mean the clothes Liliana was last seen wearing are the pj. From the wording of the communicate it seems nobody saw the perp taking her. Is he Liliana's non custodial father? And how exactly it was? How and when was she discovered missing?

WCNC reports Lilliana Josephine Lemmond was found safe, but authorities are still looking for the suspect, Jeremy Scott Lemmond.

Father accused of abducting 1-year-old daughter placed into custody, Mint Hill police say

MINT HILL, N.C. — A father accused of abducting his 15-month-old daughter over the weekend was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals Wednesday near Pilot Mountain, Mint Hill police said.

An Amber Alert was issued in Mint Hill for Lilliana Josephine Lemmond Saturday and she was later was found safe.

Jeremy Scott Lemmond, 39, was taken to the Surry County Detention Center. Police said he broke into a home on Saturday on Quail Ridge Drive and took his daughter.

In connection with the break-in, Lemmond was charged with felony breaking and entering, assault inflicting serious injury , felony speeding to elude, assault on a female and two counts of child abuse.

Destiny Madison Pack, 24, of Walnut Cove, is accused of helping Lemmond escape police Saturday. Pack was arrested and charged with aiding and abet child abuse and obstruction of justice.

Pack and Lemmond have some type of personal relationship, police said.
