Alamance County, NC -- Alamance County officials have charged a man with the murder of his wife and setting their home on fire.
The investigation began after deputies discovered a body inside a house fire on Highway 62 around 11:00 pm Saturday night.
The body was so damaged, investigators with the Alamance County Sheriff's office were not immediately able to identify the gender, much less the identity of the victim.
An autopsy was performed Monday morning, identifying the victim as Lisa May Porter, 47. The newly released autopsy results show she was stabbed at least once in the heart/lung area with an object similar to a butcher knife. Investigators found a knife inside the home that might have been the murder weapon
