This is very strange.

A Rockingham County family is asking for the public’s help as the search continues for a missing woman who vanished over the weekend.

According to deputies, Lori was last seen after getting out of her husband Michael Plummer’s car along a dead-end road. Angela (sister-in-law) says the couple had been on their way to visit family in Mayodan for an Easter gathering when they took a wrong turn and ended up along a remote stretch of road. She says she got a call around 4 p.m. that something was wrong.

“At about 4 o’clock, I got a call from my mother that Michael, my brother, was in a panic. He couldn’t find Lori.”

*****
Angela says Lori got out of the car, placed her hands on Michael’s shoulders, and told him she loved him, but needed a moment alone. Michael then drove to the end of the road, as Lori had asked, before returning just minutes later.

“He goes to the end of the road, waits five, maybe ten minutes at the most, drives back down to the end of the road where she got out, and she was gone.”

*****
Family members say Lori had been serving as her husband’s full-time caregiver, as he suffers from dementia and other cognitive issues, while also managing her own mental health challenges.

“Lori has a big heart; unfortunately, she’s been plagued with mental illness for a long time, and she’s had a lot to deal with taking care of my brother 24/7.”
[snip]

“Just be on the lookout. She may be okay, she may not be okay, we don’t know. But her frame of mind when she left, she was not okay.”
