An anonymous donor is offering a $5,000 reward for information that helps a Gastonia family find their missing teenager.

Luis “Luigi” Tario, 16, was last seen Oct. 31, leaving his Gastonia home in a gray Nissan SUV.

His cellphone has not pinged since his disappearance, and cameras across the Southeast haven’t spotted his vehicle, Gastonia police said.

A family in Gastonia is desperate for tips to find 16-year-old Luis Tario, who has been missing for months, but now they say they’re being targeted by scammers, and the calls have caused trauma at the worst possible time.

“It’s frustrating, and I can’t even explain the feeling,” said Nataly Tario, Luis’ sister.

Last Halloween, Tario’s brother took her car and vanished.
