Man reported missing in Charlotte not seen for several weeks

Otis Watson, 60, was last seen on May 26. Family members and friends told police it was unusual to not hear from Watson and that they and have concerns about his health.

Police were notified of his disappearance on June 2.

Would be good to know if he drove and if his car was at his residence.Otherwise check any security cams if he walked away.
I do not understand why he was reported June 2nd. and not in the media until now?
I find it interesting the police are asking for the help, why did the family not go to the media right away?
