A Currituck man, missing since failing to show up at work Wednesday, has his co-workers worried about his safety.
Paul Jandreau, 51, a retired master chief and employee with BAE Systems in Norfolk, did not come to work Wednesday even though he known to always be on time, said co-worker Chris Herring.
The Currituck County Sheriffs Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation are investigating, said chief deputy Sandy Casey.
When Jandreau did not show up Wednesday morning, Herring and other co-workers went to Jandreaus home in Moyock. His wife, Latisha, 38, said she did not know where he was, Herring said. Jandreau and his wife are going through a divorce.
Jandreau's cell phone was found by a man who made a call to Jandreau's brother, Mike, who told him to turn it in to the police. The man turned it in to the Currituck Sheriff's Office, Herring said. The sheriff's department declined to comment about the phone or where it was found.
