We are asking the public for help in locating Paul Milton Simms, pictured here. Mr. Simms fled on foot from police yesterday around 6:00 pm near Ingram Planetarium. Mr. Simms is on foot and was last wearing a camouflage jacket. It is unknown which direction he may be headed.

Simms' family provided information to police that led us to believe he may need medical attention. If you see Mr. Simms, please contact your local law enforcement or Sunset Beach Police at 910-579-6297.

Body found in Sunset Beach golf course pond believed to be missing man - WWAY TV

Police say just before 10 a.m. they were notified that a body was seen floating face down in a golf course pond in the city limits of Sunset Beach.

Investigators have reason to believe that the body recovered was that of Paul Milton Simms who went missing on January 9 near this same area.

The body is being sent to the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Officer for an autopsy and positive identification.
