Authorities say a day after Retha Simpson was reported missing, they found her dismembered body on a trail in a trash bag.

Police arrested her husband the same day. Investigators said they found blood, cleaning supplies and fingerprints at the couple’s home while questioning Winfred Simpson.

Winfred Simpson was found guilty of the first-degree murder of Retha Simpson, 40. Retha's remains were found in trash bags along Thurston Avenue, off Industrial Avenue, on March 24, 2010.

Simpson was sentenced to life in prison without parole...

He said he accidentally killed his wife in self-defense, then became so distraught in a drug and booze fueled haze that he dismembered the woman with a saw.
