A Cool Springs woman and a teenage family member were tied up in their home over Christmas weekend and violently assaulted before the woman was killed, according to Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell, who called the crimes “demonic.”Gary Stephen Love, 47, of Wadsworth, Ohio, has been charged with murder. Additional charges are expected.

The woman was identified as 46-year-old Robin Denman. The other victim's name was not released. The two lived at the home alone.

The man accused of holding a 14-year-old captive in her Statesville home and killing her mother has now been charged with kidnapping, assault on a female and several sex offenses.

State seeks death penalty in Iredell homicide

As new details emerge in the case against the man charged with killing a Cool Springs woman over Christmas weekend, attorneys are preparing for a hearing to discuss the possibility he could face the death penalty.

The hearing in Gary Love’s case is expected to be held Tuesday in Iredell County Superior Court, according to Love’s attorney, Ken Darty of Statesville.
