Remains were found today near the Cliffdale Road off-ramp. It is unknown who they may belong to and will be sent to the ME for identification. Rodney isn’t the only person missing from this area.

His FB page has been memorialized. I couldn't find an obituary or other confirmation of his passing.
Comments on two specific posts drew my attention. There is an insinuation that law enforcement told his daughter they believed he was a murder victim.

All of this is surprising to hear. He survived his 7th heart attack a year before he went missing. Most times when someone was last seen wearing a hospital gown Occam's razor would suggest health issues either mental or physical.

The comments from one of his last posts in 2014 his daughter was asking if anyone knew where he was. The entire discussion is a sad foreshadowing of what was to come.

Rodney "Joe" Johnson was entered into NamUs this past June. He had not been entered (publicly) despite going missing over 10 years ago, and being in vulnerable position health-wise?

All that further leads me to believe that he was harmed and they have a suspect but no evidence or proof.

I also think they have proof (likely hospital footage) that he was alive and possibly with someone when he was last seen. The reason I feel confident in this is because the hospital could have easily had a lawsuit on their hands because they had a duty of care.

This recent case comes to mind as an example.

The family of Sarah Niyimbona have filed a lawsuit after she took her own life while under hospital supervision.

The Washington State Department of Health has also launched it's own investigation.

15 nurses fired by hospital after 12-year-old patient takes her own life

SPOKANE, Wash. (WKRC) - Fifteen nurses were terminated from their positions after a child took her own life while in the care of professionals at a medical facility.

IAccording to The New York Post, citing a report, 12-year-old Sarah Niyimbona died on April 13 after she left a room at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital, located in Spokane, Washington, and jumped from the fourth floor of a parking garage.

An investigation into Niyimbona's death was also launched by the Washington Department of Health, which alerted Providence Sacred Heart that the facility was out of compliance and could be placing patient safety in jeopardy, per InvestigateWest.

The hospital submitted a safely plan to address deficiencies in response, the outlet reported.

The lawsuit filed by Niyimbona's family states that the hospital "failed to properly utilize and monitor alarms in Sarah's room allowing her to escape," resulting in unspecified damages for pain, suffering and funeral expenses, among other losses, according to InvestigateWest.
