Cary driver showed 'lack of remorse' for 6-year-old he is charged with killing

A Cary man charged with hitting and killing a 6-year-old girl showed a lack of remorse at the scene of the crash, according to a report.

Police said 6-year-old Joselin Perez Hernandez was struck by a car Friday in front of her home on Walnut Street, across from R.S. Dunham Park in Cary.

The driver, Andrew Brady Everett, 50, of Cary, was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, felony involuntary manslaughter, failure to reduce speed, exceeding the posted speed limit and careless and reckless driving.

So let's get this straight... He was speeding, possibly under the influence (paraphenelia in the car), didn't try to break/slow down, and after he hit Jocelin he didn't show any remorse and called her a slur? This guy is the scum of the earth. I hope he gets put away for a LONG time.

A newly-released search warrant from cops revealed Everett had marijuana drug paraphernalia in his car and was driving up to 15 miles over the speed limit.

According to the warrant, Everett said: 'I'm not sure why this investigation is taking more than five minutes, it wasn't my fault, no one was watching her and she jumped out in front of me. That r*tard.' It is unclear if the little girl was disabled.

Everett claimed the child jumped out in front of him, but police noted a lack of skid marks on the road suggest he did not try to brake.

Police said Everett showed 'lack of remorse, had a delayed reaction to the crash and was impatient during the investigation.

In a brief court appearance on Tuesday, Everett's bond was set at $26,000. He was appointed a public defender with a next court date of Jan. 22.

yep I think he's in for a bit of a surprise when he realizes what he's charged with
