LPD said Martin suffers from schizophrenia and has severe OCD that presents similar to severe autism in social interactions. According to his family, he functions at the level of a 5-year-old.

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A family still looking for answers after one of their loved ones went missing. Joshua Martin's family is desperate to find him after the 28 year-old from Millard disappeared from a mental health facility last Friday.

His family is organizing a search party this Sunday and plans to handout fliers, knock on doors, walk tree lines and creeks and drive through Lincoln looking for him.

The search party will be meeting at 11 a.m and 2 p.m at the Walmart located at 8700 Andermatt Dr., Lincoln, NE, 68526. Anyone is invited to join the search party for Joshua. You can sign up using this link.

LPD said they have checked video in the area and surrounding businesses and traffic cameras. Joshua has been entered into the National Crime Information Center as a missing person.

They have also searched a treed area by drone following a tip they have received. Joshua was not located in that search.

The family is unsure where he is but believes he might be somewhere between Lincoln and Omaha.

“We don’t know if he’s in hiding because he’s scared or we don’t know if he’s in hiding ‘cause he doesn’t want to go back to the group home and he wants to be home,” Tronson said.

Tronson also expressed frustration that Martin was able to walk away from the facility in the first place. 10/11 reached out to Integrated Behavioral Health Services for comment but they declined due to privacy reasons.

DENTON and LINCOLN, Neb. —
Family and friends of Joshua Martin, 28, said they made a late change of plans for their Sunday search parties after police alerted them to a possible sighting.

Kary Tronson, Martin's aunt, said she's confident the sighting Lincoln police told her about is legitimate because the individual matched a specific description.

She said he was spotted near 112th Street and Yankee Hill Road near Denton, west of Lincoln, on Saturday.

Others stayed in Lincoln to search and distribute flyers.

It's been a hard and long 17 weeks for Joshua Martin's family.

"I think it's just crazy in my head how a grown man can leave in the middle of town, in the middle of the day, and there's no video surveillance or that we know of," said Kary Tronson, Joshua's Aunt.

Family and friends searched several times and even hired two private investigators.

LPD told KMTV they have no new updates regarding Joshua's case and that it's still an active investigation.

Still missing one year later. :(

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — For Joshua Martin's family, time has not eased the pain.

"It's been hell. I mean everyday I feel like he's on my mind when I wake up," said Jonathan Martin, Joshua's brother.

Joshua's family moved him into IBHS because he has schizophrenia and severe OCD. They say he functions at the level of a five-year-old.

His siblings tell us they've searched for him several times and even hired two private investigators. Still, no sign of their brother.

A public records request revealed that the state cited IBHS for violations stemming from Martin's disappearance. Those violations included staffing issues, not following Joshua's individualized service plan, and existing policies that were not in compliance with state regulations.

On one of the links above, they say he was spotted near Denton and they felt it was a legitimate sighting.
I saw that but it wasn’t on camera and so there’s always the what if.

Sometimes the things that happen in these group homes are pretty awful, I’m just hoping they truly had something concrete to say it wasn’t a dirty restraint or something gone wrong

I may have missed it but I read each link - how do they know for sure he left?
I was wondering the same thing. In post #9 the aunt says there is no video. Did the place he was residing have cameras? It certainly seems they would/should.

They may not have. When I worked in group homes, we were not allowed to have cameras inside the building because the state considered it to be a privacy issue for the residents. They could be outdoors monitoring the property, but not inside. This is probably going to vary state by state, but it means it isn't a given that there would be cameras.

We really don't know if he left the facility then. Moo
Yeah IMO there is a possibility that he did not if he isn’t directly seen on camera. There would be no reason to without that he was seen on camera leaving if that was the case.

I really wonder if this was explored.
