Circumstances of Disappearance Leroy DOERR has been missing since October 11, 2019. An extensive search of Doerr’s home and surrounding property revealed no signs of foul play; his wallet, glasses, credit cards, checkbook, phone, and favorite black sweatshirt were all found inside the residence, as well as his medication. All vehicles and motorized farm equipment Doerr has access to have been accounted for. Mr. Doerr's hair and beard may have grown out since he has been missing as he sometimes forgets personal hygiene, due to his memory issues. There has been no bank activity, and no contact with anyone since October 10, 2019.

<<A witness told officials Thursday that a man matching the Creighton man's description was seen on the south shoulder of Highway 59, about eight and a half miles east of Doerr’s residence. The sighting was around 10:30 Saturday morning. The witness said the man was walking East, and added that he was not dressed for the cold.>>

<<Members of the Yankton County Search and Rescue and the sheriff’s office searched several spots within a 10-mile radius of Doerr’s residence, located east of Creighton, the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.

The search was unsuccessful and the investigation continues. The sheriff’s office is reminding area farmers to watch for articles of clothing, as well as bones and remains, while they are doing fieldwork.>>
