I’ll be honest in saying I’m not sure what thread to put this in so I’ll start here.
I’m a criminologist and I write on a private page to keep cold cases alive; last year I wrote about a missing woman who’s body has never been recovered, but whose on/off boyfriend was later convicted of her murder.
The sister of the convicted boyfriend contacted me after I posted asking if I would take a look at the case as there are a fair amount of questions in it. I’ve agreed.
Here’s my conundrum:
This isn’t my first wrongful conviction case, but it is the first in which an innocence project isn’t involved- and really they won’t be because he hasn’t exhausted all appeals. Does anyone have any experience looking for a post conviction attorney? I’ve got the files, I have everything, but it’s not going to get anyone very far if the man doesn’t have any attorney. I have zero experience with the actual looking for an attorney and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
