First of all, I don't know a lot about ciphers or how to decode them (so, I'm really sorry if I sound stupid!), but I've been interested in the Zodiac ever since watching 'This is the Zodiac Speaking' on Netflix. I'm convinced Arthur Leigh Allen (ALA) was the Zodiac after watching.
At minute 18:28 of the third episode when they were talking about the tape, it momentarily played a shot of the words "The Living End" written on some paper material (I think). I couldn't shake off the phrase.
Because I was so convinced it was ALA, I was curious to see if the phrase matched the number of characters in the z13 cipher. Assuming there was no spaces, It didn't. There was only 12 letters in the phrase, so one symbol was left. But, I remembered that the Zodiac misspelled a lot of words, including many words ending with "ing." (Ex. "waiting" as "wateing" or "waving" as "waveing"). So, still assuming there was no spaces in the code, I wrote "The Living End" as "The Liveing End" and expectedly, because the phrase was originally made up of 12 letters, it fit the cypher length perfectly. BTW, I attached an image of the cipher below.
I know this seems like a stretch since z13 is fairly short and therefore has countless solutions. Plus, I have no deciphering to back my solution up, but that's what I wanted to ask. Is "The Liveing End" even a possible solution for the z13 cipher? Can my proposed solution be proved with deciphering? Would someone be willing to try?
