^I don't know if it will be that easy.
4 years....the children will need intensive therapy, and who knows what the father has put into their heads.

I would imagine it’s possible, even likely that the missing children are armed. I’m totally unfamiliar with what the NZ bush is like in this area, but if they had been surviving for the last four years I doubt the father would leave them alone without some form of protection - if even from wildlife. As whack as the whole thing is, four years is a long time to survive in the wilderness. The father would have had to train them to protect themselves. Possibly trained on how to evade capture, as well.

Just saw the update. Those poor children! It is unconscionable what their father has put them through for the past four years. Now, on top of everything else, the 12-year-old has witnessed her father's violent death. Their recovery will undoubtedly be long and difficult. I just hope that the two missing children will be quickly located and safely recovered ........ and please, let there not be a baby. As for TP -- good riddance.

Remaining two children found safe and uninjured. No mention of a baby. There's enough in the police statements to suggest they has a reasonably good idea about the area where the family had been and what their situation was. All to come out in due time.

They 2 children have been found! Thankfully, but goodness knows the trauma they will be going through now. It’s heartbreaking.

I am only tangentially familiar with the case but it seemed like it was always bound to end like this, with the father not surrendering (and the children being alive is the best case scenario). They are going to need a lot of support and therapy.
