Found Safe New Zealand - Yerin An, 17, walking Te Araroa trail, last seen in Whatawhata, 27 Dec 2018

Yerin An hasn't been in contact with her family since Thursday night, when she said she was in Whatawhata, on the outskirts of Hamilton, a police statement said.

She is believed to be walking on the Te Araroa walking track.

Police confirm they have made contact with Yerin An and 'all is well'

"Yerin An, 17, is hiking Te Araroa Trail and last contacted her family on Thursday night from the Whatawhata area near Hamilton, police said.

But her family hadn't heard from her since, and on Friday night police issued a call for sightings

Police said on Saturday morning they had got in touch with An.

"We have made contact with Yerin, and all is well," police posted online on Saturday morning."
