Newbie question about Jane Does and coroner process.

Sorry if these questions have been asked countless times before, but since I'm new :

- What happens to the bodies of Jane or John Does when they have been victims of a crime and go unclaimed? Cremated and buried some place in particular after "x" years?
- Is it possible to ask for a coroner's report for an unsolved case that happened 45 years ago?

I have a bit of a fixation with the 1976 Lopez Canyon Jane Doe and information is hard to come by in her case.

If not it would be a great place to ask.

As for the coroners report, you might be able to get it through a FOIA request but I would do a search of the forums here and see if the case is listed first. Someone may have it or know information that's on it. If it's there it would most likely be in the Unidentified thread:
